Work Based Learning
Work based learning is
a class that I, Logan Tucker, am in. I believe this class is about the fundamentals
of work ethic and also is meant to help the student see if their ideal work
place is in fact the ideal work place.
I doubt there will be a
lot of shadowing from the teacher, and by that I mean I believe the teacher
will set the students in the right direction, but he will not being holding our hands through
the process. I say this not because I believe the teacher is lazy, but because
this class is based around the idea of setting us up for our future career.
The
idea of Work Base Learning is to show students that the work place they have
been dreaming of ever since they can remember might not be all that it cracked
out to be, simply stated I think this class will help show people that there
focus elective is or isn’t what they want to do for the majority of their adult
life.
Truth
be told, this class is like an independent study of the students’ self. Do you
like this or are second guessing the career of your choosing which isn’t a bad
thing; this class gives the students an opportunity to realize that being an
astronaut isn’t about going to space and walking around the moon, it is about
the science of astrology. This class is about the road that all students will
have to take at the end of their high school career. Work Based Learning, makes
students reflect on the question that everyone has been asking since they were
infants, “What do you want to be when you grow-up?” This class is here to help
those students ask that question to themselves, and see if they like what they’ve
chosen.
