What is WBL

Work Based Learning
Work based learning is a class that I, Logan Tucker, am in. I believe this class is about the fundamentals of work ethic and also is meant to help the student see if their ideal work place is in fact the ideal work place.
I doubt there will be a lot of shadowing from the teacher, and by that I mean I believe the teacher will set the students in the right direction, but he will not being holding our hands through the process. I say this not because I believe the teacher is lazy, but because this class is based around the idea of setting us up for our future career.
The idea of Work Base Learning is to show students that the work place they have been dreaming of ever since they can remember might not be all that it cracked out to be, simply stated I think this class will help show people that there focus elective is or isn’t what they want to do for the majority of their adult life.

Truth be told, this class is like an independent study of the students’ self. Do you like this or are second guessing the career of your choosing which isn’t a bad thing; this class gives the students an opportunity to realize that being an astronaut isn’t about going to space and walking around the moon, it is about the science of astrology. This class is about the road that all students will have to take at the end of their high school career. Work Based Learning, makes students reflect on the question that everyone has been asking since they were infants, “What do you want to be when you grow-up?” This class is here to help those students ask that question to themselves, and see if they like what they’ve chosen.

  1. This blog is just fantastic! It is eye appealing and it describes what WBL means to you. Although we all may have different judgments on the actual course, we all will experience the same outcome of the course: a better GPA, better career readiness, and better chances on getting in to a college that has actual accreditation. Be sure to check for spelling and grammatical errors as you progress throughout the year, I have not spotted any in this post, but it is just fair warning. I really enjoy this blog, and I hope that others will too. Good luck!

  2. I really enjoyed the content in your blog. Although you may have included the true outcome of the class, it did not really touch upon the true meaning of the class. Even though this may sound harsh, I am not at all saying that your blog is “bad”, we all have different views on what this course will do for us. It is actually pretty great! I hope that with this comment your progress throughout your year in WBL. Be sure to include your blog on your college application and maybe even a job application. Like Spinella said, it can actually set you apart from everyone else applying.
